The W. Frank Barron Papers document his central role in the Georgia Chamber of Commerce (and locally, the Rome Chamber of Commerce) and Georgia Business and Industry Association. Both groups promote business and its interests in local and state government in Georgia. The papers document the various activities of these organizations, particularly, their merger in 1982. The Rome Chamber of Commerce files reflect Barron's involvement with the organization that includes his hometown. There is also a file about the development of the Interstate 75 (I-75) and Lake Allatoona and the commissioning of a Trident submarine as the U.S.S. Georgia (SSBN 729).
